17 Week Check up

Just returned from the doctor's office! Met with Dr. Janet Sellon today, the other OB doc in the office. She is great and both Adam and I really enjoyed meeting her. She took all my regular stuff; weight, blood pressure...everything is normal. I was happy to hear that I did not gain any weight since my last appointment, especially since we've had thanksgiving since my last appointment.

We listened to the heartbeat, which was fast and very regular and a little bit louder than last time. It always freaks me out a little to hear the heartbeat, in a good way. It really confirms what is actually going on inside my body and gives life to what seems like an idea still...especially since I haven't felt any movement yet. Dr. Sellon said that is very normal for 16, almost 17 weeks. She said most women don't really notice anything until 20-22 weeks.

So now I'm anxiously awaiting week 20!

We also set up the appointment for our first ultrasound!!! We're very excited about this! They do not do the ultrasounds at Lincoln Family Wellness (were Dr. Manning and Dr. Sellon work), so we had a choice of a few different hospitals and doctors to see for this procedure. We will be visiting Dr. Kenny, a Neo-Parinatologist, at St. Elizabeth's. We chose Dr. Kenny because he has all the most technologically advanced equipment for ultrasounds. Yes! I will be having a 3-D ultrasound!!! So very excited! We will hopefully get to see exactly what the baby looks like, facial features and all, and if the position is right we'll also find if we're having a Baby Girl Pedersen, or a Baby Boy Pedersen! Our appointment is on January 5th at 9:45 am. Hopefully we'll have Baby's first pictures to share with everyone!!

Our next appointment with Dr. Manning is on January 12...so we're moving along steadily!

We are feeling so good and so loved and so fortunate that everything is going so well!
